Duties
Acts as liaison and provides technical guidance, analysis, advice, and assistance on the DLA network environment and networks in general.
Serves as IT Project managers for DLA Enterprise projects to include acting as technical advisor, analyzing customer requirements, evaluates, monitors, and ensures compliance with federal laws and regulations.
Develops project plans, to include budgeting, coordinating project teams, tracks progress of projects and reports progress to DLA management, and conducts In-Process Reviews (IPR’s)
Plans, schedules, and participates in network hardware/software testing, deployments, implementations, and service allocations as liaison.
Develops, modifies, and conducts tests, analyzes the results, and makes recommendations on solutions and improvements based on the results of those tests.
Coordinates efforts in isolating, analyzing, identifying, and resolving network operations problems requiring level I support.
Participates in research and investigations into technological developments supporting secure network management.

Qualifications
To qualify for a IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Analyzes and translates customer requirements into project goals.
Manages IT enterprise projects including developing project plans, budgeting, negotiation for resources, monitors progress, and ensures compliance rules and regulations.
Conducts and analyzes network tests to isolate problems and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and resolve long term and short term issues.
Provides technical guidance, analysis, and advice on the conception, design, development, testing, and implementation of network systems and solutions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
