About the Position: This position is located at the Army Training Command, Training and Leader Development, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Duties

Conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive issues affecting joint and combined arms training. Serve as an expert consultant and advisor on joint and combined arms and institutional collective and individual training to the Director, G-37 and the TRADOC DCS, G-3/5/7. Applies expert knowledge of the federal budget process, the DoD Planning, Programming and Budgeting System (PPBS), and the DA Planning Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) which impact the total Army in terms of training support. Provide coordination of Joint and Army initiatives being developed by numerous interdependent organizations within TRADOC, and between Army Command (ACOM). Serve as first line supervisor for all division employees, both civilian and military, exercising the full range of personnel management responsibilities over subordinate positions. Provide continuity, integration and synchronization through the effective oversight and/or coordination of Joint and Army initiatives being developed by numerous interdependent organizations, Represent HQ TRADOC and/or prepares TRADOC leadership for participation in various Army, multi-service and joint operations training forums. Represent DCS, G-3/5/7 on institutional training concept policy and development issues.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement
