This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for advising the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) and the Director for Strategic Plans and Policy (DJ-5) on Department of Defense (DOD) humanitarian and disaster relief (HA/DR) and global health engagement (GHE) efforts in support of the National Military Strategy.
Duties
As a MILITARY POLICY ANALYST at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Supporting the Global Health Engagement (GHE) decision bodies, identifying and assessing the priority needs in relation to the National Military Strategy and other strategic documents.
Developing and recommending alternatives to HA/DR and GHE programs and non-material solutions in order meet military capability needs.
Monitoring the cost, schedule, performance, and return on Overseas Humanitarian Disaster and Civic Aid activities and Humanitarian Civic Assistance program..
Coordinating with senior State Department officials on the HA/DR policies and GHE plans, programs, and budgets.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Serving as an advisor for senior management implementing strategic plans and policy on all global and functional matters pertaining to HA/DR and GHE solutions in support of the National Military Strategy
Ability to coordinate with senior military officials, State Department, National Security Council and United States Agency for International Development officials on HA/DR and GHE plans, programs, and budgets
Mastery of, and skill in, initiating, conducting and overseeing probing, innovative studies and analyses
Reviewing Humanitarian Civic Assistance cases in DOD's Overseas Humanitarian Assistance Shared Information System.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
