You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department, Combat Systems Acquisition Division, Deployed Systems Branch (Code 2514) of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport Deployed Systems Branch of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This NT-05 position is salary capped at the GS-13 Step 10 (Capped at $151,870).

Duties

You will Lead the Fleet support and In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) operations for Combat Systems and the Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TWCS) within the Submarine Combat Support Center (SC2). You will serve as a senior technician, performing tasks involving the fielding, operation, and maintenance of USW Combat Systems and the equipment and/or components related to those systems. You will research, review, and resolve fleet issues, interact with civilian and military personnel support fleet support, and ensure accurate maintenance support for the program. You will generate and review technical documentation, including technical reports, status reports, shipboard documentation and fleet messages. You will manage Wartime Readiness efforts for various fleet programs. You will lead combat system planning activities to ensure compatibility among various asynchronous system upgrades, both with respect to technical and schedule impacts. You will lead a diverse team across multiple disciplines and support the operation and maintenance of the electrical systems and electrical components installed as part of the Combat System. You will provide post development support to ensure the successful execution of all Combat System Fleet Support tasks. You will lead troubleshooting and fleet support as required maintain operational status for AN/BYG-1 and Tomahawk.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 Equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: applying comprehensive technical electronics methods, techniques, or principles to perform tasks involving the fielding, operation, or maintenance of undersea warfare systems.
