You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Facilities ENG & ACQ Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will apply engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to a range of engineering disciplines required for the design, layout, execution processes of construction operations in order to provide input on construction projects. You will ensure compliance of quality control plans for construction projects. You will make recommendations to resolve problems encountered during construction operations. You will interpret construction guidance specifications for the purpose of monitoring contract compliance.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Passport.
• You may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the NAVFAC SE area.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to a range of engineering disciplines (i.e., civil, Mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, environmental) required for the design, layout, execution processes of construction operations in order to provide input on construction projects; 2) Ensuring compliance of quality control plans for construction projects; 3) Making recommendations to resolve problems encountered during construction operations; 4) Interpreting construction guidance specifications for the purpose of monitoring contract compliance.
