You will serve as a TECHNICIAN (NUWC DET AUTEC Construction Manager) in the Atlantic Test Facilities Division within the Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI, located in West Palm Beach, FL.

Duties

You will serve as a construction manager (CM) responsible for the on-site management of the Detachment AUTEC on-site repair and construction projects. You will serve as the local point of contact on construction/repair oversight and work with individuals at all levels withing the Navy including NUWC DET AUTEC civilians and military personnel, AUTEC Contractor, and Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC). You will oversee the daily oversight and coordination around scheduling, planning, managing and executing the various construction and repair projects at the NUWC DET AUTEC Andros Island locations: Site 1 and 2. You will manage and oversee prompt onsite inspections of all major and minor construction projects as well as maintenance and repair projects to new and existing facilities at the NUWC DET AUTEC Andros Island locations. You will provide quality oversight of construction trades/processes for the purpose of early identification of inferior quality in workmanship, noncompliance to job specifications or governing regulations. You will engage in and coordinate with the Community of Practice with NUWCDIVNPT Facilities and Installation Support staff as well as representatives from any of the outside commands that contract work to be done at NUWC DET AUTEC.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least: NT- 04: One year of specialized experience at the NT-03 (GS-09/10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service assisting in preparing or developing technical engineering work packages to include plans, estimates, or work sequences for construction/facility projects. NT-05: One year of specialized experience at the NT-04 (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service analyzing and developing technical engineering work methods and procedures to provide project planning and technical direction to support the execution of construction/facility projects.
