You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the NAVAL INFORMATION TRAINING GROUP of COMNAVINFOWARTRAGRU VIRGINIA BEACH VA.
Duties
Responsible for the physical security of all spaces, information, and resources related to classified materials.
Conducts physical and administrative security inspections of facilities under IWTG Norfolk and ensures that security guidelines established by Navy and national authorities are met.

Advisor to the commander on all matters pertaining to security guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations covering security of classified material; to include implementing action measures to ensure they are followed.
Advises the Commander of alarm and telephone systems, technical inspections, and SCI communications and Information Technology (IT) security requirements as appropriate.
Recommends purchase of new equipment or systems as they become available or as required to ensure compliance with changing security requirements.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer.
Qualifications
To qualify for the SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one-year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience operating a security program with an in-depth execution of Navy Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security procedures/requirements, policies, guidelines, and directives.
Experience preparing and submitting Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and National Agency Check (NAC) forms.
Experience coordinating Information Technology (IT) security and accreditation.
Experience assisting in the development of physical and technical security barriers to prevent the penetration of computer systems from espionage, sabotage, or fraud.
Experience with the Navy's clearance adjudication process and of the operations of the National Intelligence Community and its relationship with the Special Compartmented Information Programs within DoD.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
