JUDICIAL SECURITY DIVISION / ARLINGTON, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist. You will be responsible for for the overall management, direction, supervision, and Coordination of the Analysis Branch, Office of Protective Intelligence. The Analysis Branch is responsible for analyzing and evaluating intelligence data obtained from USMS field and Headquarters components, other law enforcement agencies and the intelligence community.

Duties

As a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist at the GS-0132-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervising research and analysis in order to determine the degree of threat. Supervising the preparation of intelligence reports. Supervising the use law enforcement databases to retrieve intelligence information. Exercising full supervisory responsibility over subordinate positions. Planning work to be accomplished; establishes priorities and assigns work to subordinates. Qualifications

GS-14 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0132-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Specialized Experience: You must have at least one full-time year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that included: 1) Analyzing threat information to support law enforcement investigations and/or intelligence research; 2) Assessing intelligence data obtained from law enforcement agencies and/or the intelligence community;3) Researching consolidated/central criminal information databases; and 4) Participating in the development of organization policies, procedures, and guidelines. Possession of the following competencies: Research: Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Data Management: Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and tools of data management, such as modeling techniques, data backup, data recovery, data dictionaries, data warehousing, data mining, data disposal, and data standardization processes. Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material that is appropriate for the intended audience. Managing Human Resource: Plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance; ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
