About the Position: This position supports the mission of the J-8, Financial Operations Directorate and will be located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas or Falls Church, Virginia.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Advanced Leave Accrual may be authorized.
Duties
Serve as lead technical advisor and resource management analyst and functional expert in the DHA Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) Program Office.
Evaluate and analyze current MEPRS operations activities and procedures and their effectiveness in meeting established goals and objectives.
Perform temporary travel for data quality and reporting compliance reviews/audits, conferences, workshops, training sessions, meetings, and/or staff assistance visits at designated MHS health care activities.
Analyze a wide variety of subjects such as resource utilization, productivity, unit and total costs, management indicators, work center outputs, man-hour/unit to investigate problems or potential problem areas.
Evaluate potential and actual usefulness and effectiveness of MEPRS data and makes recommendations on proposed changes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting in the transmission of Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) files; aiding in the analysis of health care operation activities; and evaluating policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
