About the Position: Serves as a Management and Program Analyst (Medical Readiness Coordinator), planning, developing, and implementing medical readiness reporting procedures for U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE), located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Duties

Implements reporting requirements and uses judgment and discretion in determining intent and in interpreting existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by units regarding medical readiness. Recommends courses of action concerning unit readiness matters and consults with the supervisor when significant problems arise. Conducts studies and evaluations of readiness programs within different units within MEDCoE footprint. Maintain unit readiness databases and develop reports, supporting graphics, etc. Makes medical readiness assessments and analysis of military medical readiness, develops standards, and procedures for reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential".

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, and implementing medical readiness reporting procedures. Executing a variety of studies involving the gathering, interpretation, analysis, and presentation in the final form of medical readiness data relating to the preparedness for deployment and mobilization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to this position such as Program Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
