About the Position: This position serves as a principle administrative assistant in the Mission Support Office providing support to overall District operations and General and Administrative (G&A) offices throughout Seattle District.
Duties
In accordance with Federal micro-purchasing regulations, initiate, process, and follow through on government purchase card (GPC) requests using an automated financial system.
Assure delivery schedules are met, and warranties and maintenance contract terms upheld.
Coordinate purchases with vendors.
Receive bills for contracted services and assure work has been performed satisfactorily before approving payment.
Prepare correspondence in final form ensuring proper format, grammar, and punctuation.
Prepare travel orders and vouchers for others.
Maintain hard copy and electronic files in accordance with established records management policy/regulations.
Maintain office files including sorting, arranging, purging, and retiring files.
Respond to requests for information and material representing various phases of the District’s activities pertaining to a technical information system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required to complete the initial training and obtain a Government Purchase Card (GPC) within 6 months of being appointed.
- A fully qualified typist is required (40 wpm).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes at least three (3) or more of the following; 1) verifying budgetary account codes and dollar amounts in an automated financial system; 2) preparing correspondence in final form; 3) preparing travel orders and vouchers; 4) maintaining task deadlines; 5) and creating, editing, and reformatting reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
