You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the NAVAL AVIATION WARFIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER (NAWDC) of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Duties

You will develop and maintain an accurate model of infrastructure and inventory of all enterprise architecture. You will identify and mitigate gaps across all platforms for assigned mission areas. You will evaluates financial resources and policies and applies criteria for evaluating the progress and cost effectiveness of accomplishing program plans, goals and objectives. You will provide recommendations concerning changes in funding plans which necessitate corresponding program changes of major impact. You will plan, design, and integrate server systems consistent with existing or planned data center and network infrastructures. You will advise and assist customers with technical aspects of the requirements determination, documentation, and justification process. You will maintain configuration control for data centers to include developing and recommending standards as well as enforcement of the application standards and procedures ensuring network compatibility. You will develop and maintain updated physical and logical network topology drawings to include dataflow, ports, protocol and boundary.

  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires that the selectee to submit to a background investigation to verify suitability for employment.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451 System Administrator, proficiency level (Intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating the implementation and testing of advanced hardware and software programs into established IT infrastructure and providing resolution to technical or administrative problems in order to maintain IT program objectives. Your experience must also reflect skill in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Ensuring accurate flow of information regarding process implementation, adherence to schedule, and cost constraints. Identifying and prioritizing necessary Information Technology program changes. Developing and executing test plans for IT software and data releases. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Working with department customers to provide technical guidance and direction regarding testing and training for IT software implementation and data releases. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Advising users on Information Technology system matters or recommending changes in existing policies and procedures. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Analyzing and providing alternative resolutions alleviating issues or concerns with respect to software and data release implementation. Recommend corrective solutions to management utilizing metrics from previous trials and tests.
