You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will resolve critical problems, provide guidance on the mitigation and/or closure of known findings, assist in remediation of vulnerabilities and assist in the completion of RMF body of evidence (BOE).
You will perform comprehensive assessments of management, operational and technical security controls employed with, or inherited by, the IS and determine
its overall effectiveness.
You will provide recommendations for corrective actions and the establishment of Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) to address the vulnerabilities
identified.
You will perform project management activities related to fielding and sustainment of SAP IS through all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing).
You will review proposed project for adequate analysis, justification and proper consideration of supporting requirements.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 level advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, demonstrating mastery knowledge of, and skill in applying, policy and planning concepts/practices and interrelations of multiple IT disciplines. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:
1) Performing comprehensive assessments of management, operational and technical security controls employed with, or inherited by, the IS and determine its overall effectiveness.
2) Providing surveillance and guidance over the major program segments and projects as they pertain to the implementation and extension of standardized information systems.
3) Utilizing knowledge of IA processes and functions (e.g. - DOD, Navy, Marine Corps, Intelligence Community (IC), National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), Defense Information System Agency (DISA), etc., particularly those associated with telecommunications, assessments and authorization, cross-domain solutions, and the risk management framework.
