This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting and producing multiple, timely analytic products and wargame events related to defense strategy, national security policy, and force development.
Duties
As a STRATEGIC WARGAMING ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Designs, develops, executes, and facilitates war games; analyzes event results and develops key insights and observations. Recommends changes to war games based on studies and analyses that are conducted post-event.
Prepares all wargame materials, interfaces with the game sponsor and participants in the execution of the game and analyzes game results.
Prepares final reports and briefings for division leadership and senior 4-star and civilian equivalent officials.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 14 grade level in the Federal service:
Designing, developing and executing wargames or tabletop exercises (TTXes) for high-ranking government leaders.
Navigating sensitive foreign policy relationships and interagency equities while building wargames, TTXes, and other events with international partners and allies and the interagency.
Leading discussions during wargames and tabletop exercises with 4-star and civilian equivalent partners.
Expert knowledge of wargaming at the executive strategic or policy-level in order to design, develop and execute wargames or tabletop exercises for high-ranking government leaders.
Writing appropriately scoped materials for and making oral presentations to a wide range of audiences including the most senior
levels.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
