You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN) in the MITSC West, AC/S, G-6 of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will diagnose and resolve IT problems in response to customer reported incidents. You will research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements. You will troubleshoot and maintain IT services including scheduling installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software. You will resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. You will ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency; and the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with program managers to refine functional requirements. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpreting and evaluating performance data.In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing Information Technology (IT) technical and administrative support such as troubleshooting, configuration, customer assistance, customer training, account management; systems and equipment access; AND ensuring the application of information security policies and procedures in the delivery of customer support services. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, applicants may qualify for this position through education. In order to qualify for this position through education applicant must possess:

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Successfully completed 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Applicants can also qualify through a combination of education and experience which when combined equal one year of specialized experience.
