About the Position: Serves as a Lead Victim Advocate Coordinator providing comprehensive assistance and liaison services to and for victims of spouse abuse and educating personnel on the installation regarding the most effective responses to domestic violence on behalf of victims and at-risk family members.
Duties
Serve as Lead Victim Advocate Coordinator overseeing work performed by victim advocate employees.
Coordinates with case manager in developing appropriate plan of assistance/intervention for safety of victim and family members.
Screen victims of abuse by evaluating their needs then providing information, resources and services available to them.
Provide input to Family Advocate Manager in the establishment/implementation of local policies pertaining to Victim Advocate Program.
Conduct briefings on Family Advocate Program policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Background/records check, IAW DoDI 1402.05, AR 608-18 (MPs-NCIC, ASAP, ACR and State Child Protective Services) and Army Directive 2014-23, IMCOM G9 Memorandum, dated 26 June 2015, directing a CNACI, are required for this position.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours, on-call, or rotational shifts.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Basic Requirement for Lead Victim Advocate Coordinator
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Psychology and Sociology.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing professional advocacy services to victims of domestic violence to include both spouse and child abuse; conducting assessments with victims of domestic violence to include spouses and children to evaluate needs and risks; recognizing the need for professional intervention and referral to appropriate services; and 4)conducting training workshops/seminars on domestic violence in support of a family advocacy program.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Psychology or Sociology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
