About the Position: The incumbent performs the full range of receptionist, recordkeeping, and miscellaneous clerical duties within the Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Duties
Performs the full range of receptionist, recordkeeping and miscellaneous clerical duties.
Receives patients and visitors as the initial point of contact.
Maintains all patients' records, both electronic and paper, according to regulation ensuring each entry contains proper patient and health care provider identification.
Coordinates and/or schedules patient appointments with other clinics or specialties
Maintains and monitors patient appointment schedules for the clinic/practice.
Monitors and communicates delays in scheduled appointments to the appropriate staff and patients
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent may be required to work rotating shifts, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position may require business travel up to 5%.
- The incumbent may be required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position may be designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations. The incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may have a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- This position may have a specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirement since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- A pre-placement medical examination may be required.
- The incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification thought the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
- This position may be designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations. The incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical and administrative support functions such as record keeping, answering telephone calls, receiving patients, and scheduling patient appointments within an inpatient and/or outpatient clinic and/or medical treatment facility (MTF); providing basic medical information to patients, medical staff, and the general public; and utilizing automated office, healthcare, and/or scheduling systems to enter and retrieve data.

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.)

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
