You will serve as a Materials Handler Supervisor in the Logistics Readiness Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR (647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam).

Duties

You will plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. You will maintain a balanced workload between subordinate work groups or individuals. You will participate in meetings and discussions regarding initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. You will investigate work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. You will investigate grievances and complaints, resolving them where possible, and notifies supervisors of that sufficient importance or seriousness. You will issue and the return of mobility gear/weapons to individuals or deployment teams ensuring accountability and documentation in the assigned mobility IT system, requiring clear communications with customers and senior management. You will be direct and guide the work of other one Work Leader 6 Material Handler, one WG-6 Material Handler, and two WG-5 Material Handlers, as well as augmentees assigned to the section during contingency operations or high-volume workload.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise Example of Screen-out Element: ability to do the work of a WS-6907-05 Materials Handler Supervisor demonstrated through experience, working under normal supervision, experience directing and/or guiding the work of others to perform the full range of warehouse functions; planning and establishing overall schedule; using knowledge of shipping, receiving, issuing, and storing materials; directing the consolidation and re-warehousing of materials to optimize warehouse space; reading and creating shipping documents; labeling packages; reviewing warehouse plans; and provide technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.
