Job opening: Recreation Assistant Range Operations

This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Camp Bullis located in San Antonio, Texas.
This is a Flexible category position with guaranteed 00 hours per week. May work up to 40 hrs./wk.
Duties
Checks identification, collects fees when appropriate, and completes appropriate documentation. Receives returned
items, inspecting for obvious damage, missing parts and perform make-ready on equipment to be reissued. Checks
inventories and supplies.
Executes range facility opening, closing and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local and federal
laws. Maintains communications and follows instructions of the Rod-N-Gun Recreation Center's (RNGRC) Manager,
and Range Control agency to ensure safe operations. Coordinates medical support through the installation range control
agency. Instructs patrons on range safety practices and provides general firearm and marksmanship information.
Responsible for all safety issues in the operation of the range.
Ensures proper handling, storage, accountability and inventory of range supplies and equipment. Assigns shooting areas
to patrons and checks identification cards and ensures that all customers have checked in at the RNGRC. Checks
inventory of targets and requests restock. Performs cashier duties and maintains records of customer usage and
maintains the facility clean and organized at the Sportsman's Range.
Circulates among patrons to assure safety is satisfactory and ensure that customers/patrons adhere to safety procedures.
Receives and reviews/resolve customer complaints and notifies the Chain of Command (Management). Coordinates
scheduled use of ranges, conducts briefings and monitors customers/patrons. Assists with simple repair, lawn
maintenance, grounds keeping, and other duties assigned by management.
Operate a government vehicle to include light truck, sedan, golf cart, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by
Management.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid driver's license.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations.
- This position has physical lifting requirement of 50 lb which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- The position requires the incumbent to obtain a Range Certification Card.

Qualifying Experience:
Must be familiar with firing range operations and firearms safety. Experience with firing range operations is highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
1. Dealing with the general public.
2. Ability to operate a cash register or point of sale system (POS).
3. Able to communicate effectively in English
