About the Position: Serve as the Army Pregnant and Postpartum Physical Fitness (P3T) Program Specialist. The incumbent supports the implementation of the P3T program; applies a range of quantitative and qualitative methods to improve P3T initiatives across the Army. This position is located at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Partner with installation P3T leaders to assess community needs and baseline assessments, updating and monitoring as needed. Facilitate communication of relevant P3T program updates to the installation and unit P3T Program Leaders. Consult with P3T leaders and health and wellness stakeholders at installations in dealing with complex issues regarding local P3T program management. Independently collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources, including installation activities, local communities, and state and other federal agencies. Assess trend and developments in P3T, health promotion and community health and other related fields to predict future impact on P3T and develop or modify P3T activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 25%.
  • Contracting Officer's Representative certification- Within 6-months of appointment, must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) certification.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service, which includes (1) experience utilizing various databases for analyzing data to identify significant pregnancy and postpartum physical training trends; (2) evaluating pregnancy and postpartum physical training initiatives within an organization; (3) advise leadership on program processes such as pregnancy and postpartum physical training or holistic health and fitness in order to establish effective health care guidance; and (4) design communication strategies to enhance understanding of pregnancy and postpartum physical training initiatives. Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: - Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; - Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and - Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
