Duties

You will maintain hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, pipes threaders, cutters, dividers, chalk lines, dills, grinders, ground fault interrupter equipment) to accomplish assigned duties. You will use hand or power tools to install, maintain, or repair pipes and pipe systems. You will determine the pipe, joint, or valve sizes for the piping system. You will plan or layout the installation, modification, and repair of new or existing pipe systems and equipment. You will check correct circulation, flow, pressure, and leak-free joints in the piping systems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. WG-10: This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Using tolls and equipment such as sliding squares, measuring tapes, dividers, chalk lines, plumb bobs, templates, drills and wrenches; 2) Interpreting and/or applying building plans and blueprints; 3) Using shop mathematics to lay out angles, arcs, and circles. WG-08: This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.
