This position is located in the Office of Policy and International Affairs, United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The employee provides a variety of analytical, technical, advisory, and administrative support functions to the Office of Policy and External Affairs.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.

Specialized Experience includes:
Experience supporting the administrative processes and programs in an organization including time and attendance, meeting and appointment scheduling and preparing correspondence, reports, charts and spreadsheets.
Experience coordinating international and domestic travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations as well as processing travel vouchers using a financial management system such as CONCUR or other travel databases.
GS-11 (The next lower grade is GS-09):
Specialized Experience includes:
Experience supporting the administrative processes and programs in an organization including time and attendance, meeting and appointment scheduling and preparing correspondence, reports, charts and spreadsheets.
Experience coordinating international and domestic travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations as well as processing travel vouchers using a financial management system such as CONCUR or other travel databases.
GS-12 (The next lower grade is GS-11):
Specialized Experience includes:
Independently performs administrative processes and programs in an organization including time and attendance, meeting and appointment scheduling and preparing correspondence, reports, charts and spreadsheets.
Experience coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations as well as processing travel vouchers using a financial management system such as CONCUR or other travel databases.
Analyzes assigned program operations, systems, and resource allocations to streamline processes and enhance office efficiency and overall program effectiveness.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.
Education may be substituted for experience at the GS-09 and GS-11 grade levels if the following is met:
GS-09
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree (if related); Or
- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (if related); Or
- LL.B, LL.M., or J.D.,
GS-11
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (if related); or
- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (if related); or
- LL.M., if related
