About the Position: Serves as the social media Public Affairs Specialist for the11th Airborne Division Public Affairs Office at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER).

Duties

Serves as 11th Airborne Division webmaster, designing, developing and maintaining 11th Airborne Division webpages, and updating,/ changing content on the 11th Airborne Div main domain (homepage and selected major pages to include subordinate units). Serves as 11th Airborne Division PAO news media specialist, making use of web-based social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, YouTube and other popular sites to support the communications objectives of the command. Plans, designs, and constructs visual material for the 11th Airborne Division Public Affairs Office, to include photo graphics and formats, computer graphics and formats, web graphics and webpage design. Serves as the PAO command information chief, assisting other PAO sections during peak periods of activity, and periodically serving as on-call, after-hours public affairs representative.

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in public affairs operations to include writing web and social media content. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCommunications and MediaOral CommunicationWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
