About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Ft. Drum, New York.
Duties
Serve as the Maintenance Officer at a complex multi-mission installation, providing the full range of maintenance operations and services.
Develop policies and plans to accomplish a multitude of maintenance programs by government civilians, contractors, military units, or depot activities.
Maintain oversight of the installation-level maintenance mission and equipment maintenance support for tenant, military, and training organizations
Provide management and oversight of the Logistics Readiness Center maintenance mission and support of equipment for tenant, military, and training organizations at the installation.
Manage Government Purchase Card (GPC) controls; monitor and recommend action pertaining to Maintenance Blanket Purchase Agreements; and approve procurement of special tools and programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Drum Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing logistical readiness programs; 2) Evaluating logistical programs for compliance; 3) Providing logistical readiness advice and/or guidance to others; and 4) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
