About the position: This position will be assigned to the Afterburner Entertainment Venue on Sheppard AFB, TX.
Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending and stooping; pushing and pulling carts, and lifting.
Must be able to work rotating shifts and an uncommon tour of duty.
Duties
Operates, maintains, and monitors activities within facilities and maintains order. Records activity attendance. Shelves books, magazines, and other materials in proper order and location. Sets up and breaks down rooms and equipment for scheduled events and activities. Assists with group activities and programs held in various facilities as needed. Answers questions concerning events, programs, transportation, or other matters related to events and programs. Checks out equipment to customers and verifies condition upon return. Maintains facilities and arranges and cleans assigned areas. Opens and inspects facilities at beginning of day/shift and closes and secures facility at end of day/shift. Documents and/or reports equipment and/or facility problems to duty managers/supervisors. Assists with making room reservations, activity registrations, and routine supply/inventory duties. Reports security violations to proper authorities and ensures facility is secured. Assists with carrying out recurring group activities such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games and events, and self-directed leisure. Recommends new programming activities, to include type of format and resources the activity would require. Assists in promoting marketing strategies. Greets facility users and conducts facility tours. Assists with decorating facilities to reflect holiday and program themes. Assists customers in all aspects of Community Programs and Resource Center business to include locating required information, etc. Works with other staff members, volunteer and/or individual/personal services contract personnel. Verifies customers are authorized users of facilities by checking identification when required. Collects fees, makes change, and completes appropriate administrative documents. Prepares cash collection forms; turns in daily cashier reports/logs and makes deposits as required. Assists with day-to-day operation and maintenance of Community Center. Assists with a variety of tournaments to include billiards, ping pong, dominos, spades, etc. Operates an assigned government motor vehicle when performing duties and to transport supplies and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts and an uncommon tour of duty.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have practical knowledge of basic computer skills. Must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities, equipment, rules and procedures involving recreational work in the area or specialty in which the position is assigned. Must be familiar with basic operations of cash registers, funds handling; must be capable of resolving common arithmetical problems and make change when receiving payments from customers. Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending and stooping; pushing and pulling carts and lifting. Must possess skill in dealing with the public and have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to work rotating shifts and uncommon tour of duty. Must be able to obtain Food Handler's certification. Subject to satisfactory completion of National Agency Check.
