You will serve as an Infrastructure Support Specialist in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: If you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A.

Duties

You will coordinate, monitor quality, and oversee the installation, removal, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of infrastructure used by the shipyard. You will provide final authority for assignment of infrastructure within the shipyard including equipment for permanent and temporary structures. You will research and develop answers for issues concerning infrastructure and issued directives. You will analyze audits, surveillance and deficiency reports to determine appropriate action code, identify adverse trends, review corrective action, and determine corrective action.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing or evaluating infrastructure deficiencies to identify and make recommendations for facility requirements and ensure compliance. For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: estimating infrastructure requirements and needs based on facility workload and personnel requirements to recommend improvements to funding or procedural deficiencies, and ensure compliance.
