About the Position: This position is located at Fort Bliss, Texas. El Paso's climate is dry and sunny with mild winters and warm summers.
Duties
Ensures that the Emergency Operations Center is properly prepared for the conduct of operations commensurate with the emergency or training exercise, as directed by the Installation Commander.
Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review and deadlines and time frames for completion.
Tracks ongoing and planned operations and reports their status to local supervisors and higher headquarters, as required.
Plans, organizes, and schedules meetings with installation activities to discuss organization support to the Garrison's mission.
Identifies, defines, coordinates and provides recommendations based on staff analysis to resolve issues and conflicts that may arise.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Travel up to 5% of the time.
- Must obtain/maintain a valid State Driver's License.
- This position is designated as Key.
- This position is mission essential.
- Must obtain/maintain a Secret (Tier 3) Security Clearance.
- A 1 year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing briefings and/or reports on the status of operational issues and policies to present to interested parties. 2) Tracking the completion of taskings by responsible office to report status. 3) Recommending actions required to implement operations and contingency plans applicable to the installation. 4) Using automated systems such as Installation Status Report (ISR), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), Internal Control System (ICS), Common Levels of Support (CLS), and Enterprise Architecture to conduct operational reporting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
