Duties

Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Establishes deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Instructs subordinates in new procedures, and provides advice when problems arise. Reviews work in progress or on completion. Adjusts plans, assignments, and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 4 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond 6 years, up to 8 years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 8 years.
• Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• Pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position involves duties which are subject to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations regarding hazardous wastes.
• This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
• Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
