About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Operations Center (DDOC), J33 Operations Division, J-3 Operations Directorate DHHQ, in Falls Church, Virginia.
Note:
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Supervise the Agency watch team in their functional area responsibilities of preparing, coordinating, synchronizing, maintaining Operations Orders, Task Orders, Fragmentary Orders, and crisis response plans in support of Combatant Commands.
Provide instructions, set work priorities, and establish deadlines, develop new methods to establish tactics, techniques, and procedures
Serve as coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members.
Responsible for assisting and advising the DOC Officer in Charge, Current Ops Branch Lead and J-33 Chief, Operations in the execution of all operational matters and procedures.
Fully prepared and trained to assume the additional responsibilities required in response to contingencies and crisis.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- The employee is required to work other than normal duty hours (24/7), which includes evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Employee may be recalled to duty with little or no notice.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assist in developing emergency plans/procedures, provide recommendations to management on potential threat responses, overseeing the work of employees and advising management on emergency management policies/procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
