To serve as a Trainer and installation/wing security specialist for integrated defense and force protection related to physical and operations security policy and issues. Manages assigned program areas, and implements force protection policy, projects, and studies. Monitors contractor compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Serves as the focal point for the security forces training program, coordination and implementing all training activities for the unit
Ensures that all training program measures and actions taken comply with federal, DoD, Air Force, MAJOM, and local rules, directives, instructions, requirements, and procedures
Plans, develops, coordinates, schedules, accomplishes, and/or monitors various unit training activities to include military and civilian security forces training
Manages formal school requests, collective and sustainment training, ancillary, and recurring training
Conducts training classes for security personnel
Develops and monitors the accomplishment of security forces training plans and obtains and develops training aids and materials
Attends, arranges, and conducts meetings, briefings, and workshops and performs other duties related to security forces training
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed “Unscheduled Telework.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- This position MAY be eligible for a recruitment/relocation incentive. Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official.
- Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
- Subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
- May be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- Practical knowledge of commonly applied security concepts, principles, practices, and requirements to effectively coordinate and provide effective training for the unit
- Practical knowledge of various security specialties such as physical, personnel, industrial, operational, and informational security to resolve well-defined questions and develop lesson plans
- Knowledge of security forces programs and objectives, and military/civilian security forces training program processes to develop comprehensive training programs and identify training requirements
- Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques. Ability to instruct a training course in a classroom setting
- May be required to work uncommon tour of duty for training purposes and surveillance tasks, wear SF uniform during staff arming contingencies as directed by the DFC will be required to qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons
- May be required to carry a firearm as directed by the Defense Force Commander and will be required to qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons
- May be required to wear special protective clothing such as coats, boots, vests, gas masks, helmets, safety glasses, and/or hard hats and may be exposed to high levels of noise such as aircraft engines or test facilities
- DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.
- The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security ..
- Accreditation and Cert and AFI 36-2645. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Sec Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-4 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is serve as a Trainer and installation/wing security specialist for integrated defense and force protection related to physical and operations security policy and issues. Manages assigned program areas, and implements force protection policy, projects, and studies. Monitors contractor compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Desired skills of potential candidates:
Prior Security Forces desired, 1 to 2 years' experience prior Security Forces Trainer desired, Instructor Certification desired
