About the Position: This is a Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation), GS-0303-06, position is with the Department of Public Health, Occupational Health Clinic, Located at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah.
Duties
Maintain medical database of employees enrolled in various medical surveillance programs.
Review medical database and updates it as needed to eliminate inconsistencies, overlap, and duplication and ensures only current material is retained.
Improve database management by simplifying or consolidating databases.
Create and maintain patient schedules.
Receive requests for pre-employment physicals for applicants of installation positions.
Using an automated system, research and prepare a variety of correspondence, report, memos, graphs, and charts for physician and Occupational Health Staff.
Enter data into a system and researches and correct any errors identified by error messaged.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Provides customer service to medical patients and staff. AND 2. Inputs data into automated medical systems or databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Systems Administration, Business Administration, Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
