You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will identify specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities and services.
You will analyze manpower and support costs, develop operational and support concepts, and evaluate support resource implications.
You will coordinate engineering and management actions regarding support and test equipment.
You will develop procedures that govern requirements determination, generation, acquisition, use, storage, retrieval, maintenance, distribution and disposal of supporting technical data needed by the program/project.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Demonstrating knowledge of advance logistics and organizational concepts, principles, and practices to apply new developments, experimental approaches and theories, to selve novel or obscure problems.
2) Preparing and making convincing oral and written presentations that justify significant departures from established logistics and program management practices and procedures.
3) Developing, revising and interpreting Headquarters level policies and procedures and procedures that serve as the guidance to field activities.
4) Directing complex studies requiring application of advanced analytical and statistical methods and techniques.
5) Interpreting and defining short and long range guidance as well as implications of Integrated logistics support.
