About the Position: Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist reporting to the Chief, G37-Exercises, Readiness, Training, and Integration Division. Incumbent performs a variety of duties in support of exercises and readiness such as planning, developing and coordinating doctrinal reviews/updates related to transportation management.
Duties
Serves as a Traffic Management Specialist providing support and management of the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Command-wide exercise program.
Coordinates budget requirements for Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and SDDC internal/external exercises.
Serves as technical advisor to the SDDC G3 and other SDDC Command staff elements on transportation exercises.
Coordinates with internal and external exercise stakeholders to program, plan and execute Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) exercises.
Participates in working groups, meetings, briefings, conferences on exercise related topics.
Conducts exercise after-action working groups and serves as primary proponent for the SDDC portion of the Joint Training Tool (JTT).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret with SCI security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty.
- his position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Position may require the incumbent to work nonstandard duty hours to include nights and weekends.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Assisting with an organizations transportation exercise readiness program, 2) Analyzing after-action reports to address readiness deficiencies, and 3) Operating a transport or traffic system where there is accountability for the programs operating costs.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
