This position serves as a Community Engagement Officer in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region, Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA). May develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques; and direct challenging projects/programs/activities.

Duties

The position is expected to fully plan, implement, manage and coordinate all community outreach activities related to aviation issues in their assigned areas. This position is a subject matter expert and responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the activities necessary to deliver an effective community outreach program for the Regional Administrator’s Office.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Experience organizing and leading aspects of community outreach activities. Experience with managing a workload in a fast-paced, high profile, and politically sensitive environment.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Eligible applicants meeting the minimum qualification requirements and selective factor(s), if applicable, may be further evaluated on the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) listed under the Evaluation Criteria section.
