About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Senior Staff Action Officer for the Defense Health Agency (DHA), under supervision of the Director of Operations J3, in Falls Church, Virginia.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Serve as the integral DHA advisor and expert consultant regarding the execution of the DHA’s internal and external tasking program and suspense control system.
Conduct comprehensive functional and operational analyses of tasking projects; whereby, the diversity, breadth, and intensity of initiatives often require considerable research and input from other analysts and subject matter experts.
Perform reviews, studies, and analysis to evaluate and develop procedures and policies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the program(s).
Establish and maintain a professional rapport with DHA leadership, staff action officers, and administrative personnel in managing staff actions, projects, and activities.
Ensure full coordination of operational actions and determine packaging/formatting requirements for taskers.
Develop strategies to make tacit knowledge explicit and implements processes for identifying and validating subject matter experts (SME) and facilitates the sharing of best business practices across the agency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advise management on staff action policies/procedures, develop comprehensive plans of tasking projects, conducting analysis to develop policies/procedures, and identifying areas of improvement to apply changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
