About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Army Medical Center Madigan, with Manage Care located at Tacoma, Washington.

Duties
Serve as the lead point of contact for Patient Appointments and Schedule Management Services.
Attends staff meetings and/or other meetings as instructed and gives written and oral presentations/orientations regarding the Patient Appointment System.
Provide direct support to central appointment call center and indirect clinic medical support assistant operators.
Initiates formal actions to fill vacancies, interview candidates, and makes selections.
Coordinate operation of phone systems and assure all beneficiaries needing primary care appointments are seamlessly transferred or scheduled.
Develop, plan and initiate programs to improve access to care for all patients needing care.
Coordinates with hospital officials in developing procedures for special/unique clinic requirements affecting scheduling of appointments.
Schedules and conducts training orientations for system users throughout the hospital and clinics.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-07 of Federal Service which includes 1) Experience working in a medical call center scheduling patient appointments and patient referrals; 2) Training of employee is a large medical call center; 3) Utilize various health care delivery systems and operations to schedule appointments.
OR
Education: Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration or LL.B. or J.D. if related.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
