About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Health Agency (DHA), J3 Director of Operations and the Deputy Assistant Director for Healthcare Operations and is in Falls Church, Virginia.
Note:

Duties
Serve as Branch Supervisor, Network Operations branch under the direction and guidance of the J33 Operations Division Chief, supporting nine direct reporting Defense Health Networks.
Conduct sound analysis of DHA’s mission spectrum and establishes requirements and procedures for Networks under the guidance of the J3 and the AD-HCA.
Apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve Networks effectiveness.
Provide leadership, operational/technical advice, guidance, training, and assistance to members in their daily duties.
Assign work, determines staffing needs, and effectively manages position structure.
Provide oversight of command-and-control systems for joint military operations, including Global Command and Control System (GCCS), Strategic Mobility System (SMS), Automated Message Handling (AMHS).
Review external orders products and drafts or assists Action Officers with drafting of DHA orders products.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- The incumbent of this position has been designated as key and mission essential; in the event of weather related emergency, or other local/national emergency and required to report for duty or stay on duty until relieved by proper authority.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing various reports to provide recommendations to management, utilizing management systems to support joint military operations, generating reports on the completion of tasks, and providing oversight to employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
