Duties

The purpose of this position is for the incumbent to carryout development and operational activities involving tribal child support services. Federally recognized Tribes and Tribal organizations are authorized to receive funding under Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. The scope of the work at the GS-11 level involves the incumbent to identify, analyze, and make recommendations to resolve problems and situations in child support programs. The incumbent participates in the development of recommendations to achieve program improvements and compliance, as well as program expansion. Progressively more responsible work is assigned as the employee demonstrates proficiency.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C): A. Possess a 4-year bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science from an accredited college or university; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts) B. Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcript) C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Minimum Qualifications:GS-11: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). The experience must include working for a Federal, state, local, or tribal child support agency AND performing (2) of the (3) duties listed below: 1) Analyzing child support program and/or other social services program operations and implementations; 2) Monitoring compliance of child support programs and/or other social service programs with regulations and performance standards; 3) Assist in developing evidence-based research initiatives to establish efficient outcomes for children and families. OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
