Duties

You will be responsible for assisting the Administrative Officer and Executive Administrative Staff in the management and coordination of administrative and operational requirements for the assigned location. You will be responsible for responding to inquiries and issues independently. You will coordinate with various NCIS directorates to respond to issues or to refer the individual to the appropriate program official. You will prepare travel orders/vouchers through the Defense Travel System (DTS) and submit to the Administrative Officer or the Executive Staff Assistant (Alternate Approving Official), in the absence of the Administrative Officer. You will perform special projects and participates in studies to streamline administrative and operational processes within NCIS.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Independently preparing and processing travel authorizations and vouchers within the Defense Travel System; Comprehensive knowledge of, and skill in, using Microsoft applications to develop and administer databases to collect, store, collate, sort, analyze, and resent data and information gathered during management studies and efficiency reviews; and Autonomously communicate effectively with internal and high-level external officials and to provide Action Officer support and on-site representation. GS-09 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Preparing and processing travel authorizations and vouchers within the Defense Travel System; Knowledge of, and skill in, using Microsoft applications to develop and administer databases to collect, store, collate, sort, analyze, and resent data and information gathered during management studies and efficiency reviews; and Communicate effectively with internal and high-level external officials and to provide Action Officer support and on-site representation.
