As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist with the Office of Communications, US Office of Personnel Management, you will direct, manage, and execute strategic communications to include internal information and relations, press relations, and community relations.
Duties
Directs and executes the development of multi-media materials to include an assortment of, newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, video, audio-visual recordings, and web-based content.
Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of strategic communications messages, plans, media, social media, internal communications, strategic outreach, and communications operations.
Designs and implements outreach initiatives intended to reach the identified audiences and result in an increased understanding and support for OPM and its modernization efforts.
Reviews and edits materials submitted by program offices that are designed to reach a variety of audiences.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with various medias and responds to OPM news and media inquiries.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities,
consideration of difficulty, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees.
Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level (or equivalent) that included all of the following:
Managing agency strategic communications
Developing social media campaigns
Participating in the development of compelling communication strategies
Participating in website development
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 14 level.
