This position is located in the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Continuous Process Improvement Office (CPIO). CPIO serves as GAO's key strategic body for enterprise wide continuous process improvement. As a Program Analyst you will be responsible for serving as a process improvement consultant for GAO-wide initiatives providing specific subject matter expertise knowledge and expertise on how to define, design, conduct, and implement process improvement projects.
Duties
As a Program Analyst, PT-0343-2, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Leading process improvement projects, serving as a SME staff member on projects or coach others on how to conduct process improvement projects and applying appropriate process improvement tools and techniques and uses appropriate process improvement tools and techniques to meet project goals and deadlines.
Applying appropriate analytical approaches to develop realistic data gathering methods, identify root causes of process inefficiencies, and develop reasonable solutions or assist others in doing so in the scope of GAO- wide process improvement initiatives.
Collaborating with a variety of staff and managers at all levels throughout the agency to define project goals and scope, gather and analyze data, estimate needed resources and create project plans and schedules, share information and coordinate work.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the PT-II level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band level, equivalent to the PE-I, PT-1 or GS-11 level in the federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as experience leading projects, organizational changes, portfolio governance, process improvements, or engagements that involved leadership in defining and refining objectives, developing data gathering and analytical approaches, implementing the selected methodology, and developing solutions or recommendations for improvement.
