This is a permanent, career-seasonal position. Career-seasonal positions are guaranteed to work at least 6 months but not more than 50 weeks per year and include all the benefits of permanent employment. The non-pay/nonduty time for this positions is expected to be from early to mid February , but can vary due to project requirements or weather conditions.
Duties
This position is duty-stationed in Mammoth Hot Springs in the Division of Facility Management and Operations.
Major duties include:
Install and repair sewer systems
Install, maintain, test, and inspect fire suppression systems parkwide
Set up, purge, and remove underground storage tanks
Install and repair water systems
Install and repair heating systems.
You must obtain a Level II NICET Certification (for the Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems) within 6 months.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Wyoming State Class A Operators License to perform monthly inspections on USTs.
Must complete a 40 hours Hazardous Materials Training (HAZWOPER)
Must obtain and maintain a Backflow Prevention Certification for fire suppression systems
Must obtain and maintain an Asbestos 40 hour contractor/supervisor certification
The incumbent is required to wear prescribed safety equipment and to adhere to safety rules and regulations, and standards as set by OSHA and the Park's established Safety Plan.
Snowmobile operation is occasionally required for winter operations at some park locations.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- Driver's License: must submit (in state sealed envelope directly from the state authorities), at your own expense, all certified driving records from all states that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
- If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
