About the Position:
This position is in Building 36000 across from the main Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Cavazos. The employee will work in a single occupancy office with an occasional group briefing environment at other locations. The work hours are 0730-1630 (Monday-Friday). The employee will be one of 3 representatives that have frequent one-on-one interaction with all categories of TRICARE eligible beneficiaries via phone, email and in person.
Duties
Provide information and assistance to assist patients understand the benefits of a full range of health care resources available.
Screen beneficiaries for eligibility under one or more health benefits program.
Coordinate health care resources for patients being referred outside of the Medical Center.
Update and maintain medical data bases and electronic systems.
Requirements
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Tuberculosis Test is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing information on healthcare costs, services, and benefits of various Military Health Plan Programs (TRICARE, CHAMPUS, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
