ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: DHHS- Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region, Phoenix Area - Nursing Services Division, CRSU - Peach Springs Health Center. Position is located in Peach Springs, AZ. Position is supervised by the Supv Nurse at Peach Springs Health Center. Position's primary responsibility is to provide direct patient care to patients for routine, ambulatory & specialty clinics.
Duties
Provides patient assessments, treatment implements nursing interventions based on Unit patient care standards
Initiates treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of standing orders and unit protocol's.
Administers therapeutic and emergency measure as prescribed by the medial provider and operates specialized equipment such as EKG machines, cardiac monitor automate vital sign machines and other diagnostic equipment.
Provides patient and family education for treatment of services and completes each visit thru EHR (Electronic Health Records).

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Perform initial diagnosis for minor or major problems of patient in an outpatient clinic setting; consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Initiates treatments, medications, emergency, and resuscitative measures. Observes, assesses, and stabilizes urgently and critically ill pediatric, adult and geriatric patient's health status.
