About the position: This position will be assigned to Arts & Crafts at Offutt AFB.
Duties
Plans, develops, coordinates, and oversees activities of the Arts and Crafts Center which includes activities, such as Framing,
Engraving, Arts and Crafts Sales Store, and training classroom. Plans, coordinates, and executes classes as market demand requires.
Studies directives applicable to the operation of the Center as well as skills, arts, and crafts books, manuals, catalogs, etc.
Recommends methods to promote interest in Framing & Engraving programs which stimulates interest of military personnel and their
dependents through such media as posters, pamphlets, surveys to determine local interest in existing or proposed skills development
activities and plans overall programs to provide optimum coverage of areas in which there is substantial interest. Works with
supervisor to determine appropriate staffing and hours of operation for the individual activities. Develops and recommends
appropriate level of supplies and inventory requirements to support the operation of the Center based on experience factors and
estimated needs for new programs or activities. Initiates action to obtain supplies through appropriated or non appropriated fund
channels. Identifies necessary repairs and maintenance for buildings , equipment and machinery; initiates work orders when
warranted and utilizes available staff in an effective manner. Provides input to supervisor on both appropriated and non appropriated
fund budget estimates to cover salaries, supplies, equipment and maintenance costs and submits monthly receiving reports of
expenditures for review and submission to higher headquarters. Determines appropriate space layouts for shops based on available
facilities, interest of patrons and space requirements for equipment, etc. Plans and carries out training and development of employees.

Qualifying Experience:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative professional, technical, or other work and general knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions managed in the Arts
and Crafts Center. Ability to account for money and inventory in a large retail environment. Must have strong computer system
knowledge of standard office automation software tools such as Microsoft Office. Must be able to read, speak, spell, write English,
and figure basic math and measurements. Must be able to converse with the staff and the public in a professional manner and
communicate effectively both orally and in writing. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends. Ability to effectively
manage a diverse group of employees.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
