About the Position: As a Budget Technician for the Resource Management Division, incumbent performs a variety of budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to support budget formulation and execution.

Duties
Formulates and revises the annual budget estimates for all EAMC departments in DTS.
Develops statistics and cost data for use in programming, planning and execution of the EAMC travel budget.
Projects costs by element of expense based on funds utilized for one quarter by comparison with previous years.
Projects and tracks obligations and expenditures throughout the execution phase.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Background investigation is required.
- TDY 5 percent is required.
- This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level (2) within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing various accounting, budget or financial management support; extracting, compiling and/or verifying cost data; Utilized automated financial systems such (i.e. GFEBS, DTS) to balance and/or adjust accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
