You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the RLSO SE JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will analyze and evaluate matters arising from various legislative acts. You will draft installation barment and driving privilege suspension correspondence, including preparing appeal packages for review and action. You will assist attorneys in training assigned military and civilian support staff in local law, court procedures, legal research, documentation preparation, case management and office procedures. You will deliver formal and informal presentations/training regarding legal or administrative procedures to appropriate audiences.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Identifying and analyzing problems; weighing relevance and accuracy of information; seeking/generating and evaluating alternative perspectives/solutions; making timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; 2) Evaluating to identify the causes of problems, and choosing courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders; 3) Selecting, acquiring, storing, or distributing an organization's resources in the most efficient way possible. Such resources may include materials, equipment, financial resources, inventory, human skills, production resources, or information technology (IT); 4) Preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents; maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling information for reports; keeping a calendar and informing others of deadlines and other important dates; and similar clerical support work within an organization. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree


OR

possess an LL.M., if related


OR

a combination of graduate education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience
