You will serve as a Paralegal Specialist in the RLSO SE JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will prepare legal documents (such as pleadings, motions) requiring independent legal research and analysis for domestic violence, civilian and military protective orders. You will maintain and manage client case files , maintain case management systems for services provided and conflicts checks. You will ensure timely, accurate preparation and submission of correspondence and reports. You will review the court-martial docket and update attorneys on case deadlines. You will create and maintain database spreadsheets using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and other internal data collection programs for statistical purposes. You will assist with maintaining appointment calendars for attorneys and independently schedules appointments as directed by the Department Head or individual Legal Assistance attorneys. You will prepare Pro Se pleadings as related to the victim's family law matters you will prepare You will maintain electronic and hard copy office files and ensure appropriate retention and destruction of files. You will assist RLSO LA Attorneys with client and witness interviews.

Requirements

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Managing attorney case files and case management systems for domestic violence, sexual assault, and protective orders services. 2) Conducting independent legal research and analysis using systems such as LEXIS NEXIS, WESTLAW, and/or VTA 3) Preparing and reviewing legal correspondence, pleadings, case summaries, and other legal documents to verify factual and legal content, legal sufficiency, and admissibility in court related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and protective orders. GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as: 1) Assisting with the preparation and reviewing of legal pleadings, case summaries, legal memoranda, and written correspondence in compliance for domestic violence, victims pursuing protective orders, 2) Scheduling and maintaining appointment calendars for attorneys, 3) Conducting legal research in the areas of victims' rights and advocacy, domestic violence, and 4) Creating and maintaining database spreadsheets for statistical purposes. Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
