About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Enterprise Surveillance and Recon Activity - GISA Pacific, at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

Duties

Serves a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents across Army Intelligence network and systems. Ensures security and integrity of Army Intelligence assets by working with cross-functional teams including network engineers, system administrators, incident response teams, Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) and Insider Threat teams. Orchestrate a wide variety of functions required to develop and implement innovative Cybersecurity techniques to improve utilization and safeguarding of INSCOM, IC, DoD and Army assets. Uses judgment and ingenuity in interpreting and adapting regulations, organizational policies and guidelines to support Army Intelligence unique mission requirements, goals, and special relationships with the national intelligence community.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • May be required to perform TDY travel (35%).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD 8140.01, 15 Feb 2023, Cyberspace Workforce Management.
