As a Supervisory Management Analyst (Branch Chief) in the Science Mission Directorate's (SMD's) Engagement Branch, you will be responsible for developing policies, procedures, schedules, resources, funding, and personnel requirements for the branch. You will lead a team of highly skilled science engagement professionals in supporting SMD's strategy to actively engage with audiences and learners of all ages and to share the story of NASA's integrated science program.
Duties
Defines jobs, selects employees, and assigns work. Recommends employee promotions and recognition. Approves leave, implements performance modifications, and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
Reviews work of employees for quality and content, including analysis and interpretation of impact of activities to engage audiences about science.
Advises management on revisions to existing agency policies and programs to meet requirements.
Develops and maintains relationships with various stakeholders within NASA, the federal government, private industry, universities, and other cooperative opportunities to further the various activities and programs.
Manages the internal and external operations of the branch to accomplish mission objectives and goals.
Provides strategic advice and guidance on broad programs and activities.
Works well with others in a team environment to achieve goals.
Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Providing strategic advice and guidance on broad science engagement activities and programs;
Collaborating effectively with others to establish and implement strategies that align with science and Agency objectives to inspire the world through discovery;
Collecting and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs or projects, and presenting recommended improvements to leadership for decision making.
